DURBAN

The increasing growth of business in recent years led to a floating dock being purchased by Elgin Brown and Hamer, coming into commission in April 1999. Eldock is the first privately owned dock in South Africa. However, as with all other ship repair companies, Elgin Brown and Hamer also has access to the state-owned graving and floating dock facilities operated by the National Ports Authority.
