COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. is a main subsidiary of the state owned China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO). The group specializes in ship repair and conversion, ship new-building, offshore unit construction, offshore upgrades and conversions. The group consists of seven (7) subsidiary shipyards, each strategically located along the eastern China coastline, starting from the North and distributed all the way down to the South of China. (In Dalian, Lianyungang, Nantong, Qidong, Shanghai, Zhoushan and Guangdong.) COSCO Shipyard Group is increasingly being recognized by most shipping and energy companies internationally as being the clear leader in both shipbuilding and ship-repair, as well as in the offshore and gas oil industries. T. J. Giavridis Marine Services Co. Ltd., is in close cooperation with the COSCO Shipyard Group since 1995. It prides itself that within these years it has built a special relationship with the group, being trusted by its management and clearly holding the position of COSCO's leading representative in the Greek territory, having achieved mayor results to the mutual benefit of both our principals and our clients.
COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard is close to the international sea route and navigation hub clusters in Asia, and it is a newly built shipyard with one 150.000 D.W.T. dry dock and four piers in service. Importantly, COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard is building a very large ship repairing, building and conversion base composed of three docks ranging from 80.000 to 300.000 D.W.T.. Three piers, 4,500m of coastline and 2,000,000 square meters of land area, are used by the shipyard. Within the next few years, it will have the potential to grow into a mega shipyard and be capable of servicing all marine activities, including VLCC repairs and offshore blocks fabrication.
