COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. is a main subsidiary of the state owned China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO). The group specializes in ship repair and conversion, ship new-building, offshore unit construction, offshore upgrades and conversions. The group consists of seven (7) subsidiary shipyards, each strategically located along the eastern China coastline, starting from the North and distributed all the way down to the South of China. (In Dalian, Lianyungang, Nantong, Qidong, Shanghai, Zhoushan and Guangdong.) COSCO Shipyard Group is increasingly being recognized by most shipping and energy companies internationally as being the clear leader in both shipbuilding and ship-repair, as well as in the offshore and gas oil industries. COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard in the Yangtze River Delta Region operates one 150.000 D.W.T. floating dock, one 80.000 D.W.T. floating dock, four repair berths and covers 400.000 squared meters of land area. Within the last ten (10) years, it has become the prime shipyard of the COSCO Shipyard Group, with advanced facilities, highly-trained technical personnel and experienced workforce, handing approximately 150 vessels per year and holding the leading position in China and abroad for its achievement in important repair projects and ship conversion as well as offshore new buildings.
