T.J.GIAVRIDIS MARINE SERVICES CO. LTD. are pleased to announce the exclusive representation agreement with COSCO (WEIHAI) SHIPBUILDING MARINE TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD., for the Greek Territory, further consolidating our long relationship with the COSCO Group of Companies. COSCO promotes its new Ballast Water Treatment System BLUE OCEAN SHIELD to significant effect.
As a branch of the COSCO Shipbuilding Industry Company, COSCO (Weihai) Shipbuilding Marine Technology Co. LTD., was founded in 2011, and is located in Weihai, with a manufacturing factory and a land based laboratory. Relying on the worldwide service networks of COSCO, the company can provide prompt, accurate and thorough service and after-sales services.
The Blue Ocean Shield (BOS) system is a modularized ballast water management system, which is designed and developed jointly by the COSCO Shipbuilding Industry Company together with Tqinghua University. BOS based on the requirements of the International Maritime Organization's (I.M.O.) International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments of 2004, adopts a pure physical treatment method combining filtration and UV disinfection.
The UV and filtration technology is the up to today most selected BWT method, because it is easy to install, easy to operate and effective, while it secures avoidance of any negative side effects to the Ship, any secondary environmental pollution and safety issues involved are minimal.
BOS is Certified with final approval of the Chinese MSA and type approval of all major Classification Societies, imminently pending approval by the USCG and fulfilling the requirements of G8 & G9, the BOS system could be equipped on all different types of ships. Amongst other attributes, the BOS system is characterized by installation flexibility, reduced footprint, efficiency, ease of installation, low power requirements and COSCO's proven worldwide support network. Importantly, the BOS system is the a system offering the combination of premium quality and economical choice, following the general paradigm of the COSCO Group.
