The Blue Ocean Shield (BOS) system is a modularized ballast water treatment system, which is designed and developed jointly by COSCO Shipbuilding Industry Company together with Tqinghua University.
BOS adopts a pure physical treatment method, that is filtration and UV disinfection being without any secondary pollution and avoiding any negative impact to the surrounding environment or ship. Certified with final approval of the Chinese MSA and type approval of C.C.S., and fulfilling with the requirements of G8 & G9, the BOS system could be equipped on all different type of ships.
